Middlebury-CMRS Librarian Vacancy 2025

Middlebury-CMRS seeks to appoint a part-time Librarian on a three-year contract from August 2025 (exact date by mutual agreement), with a possible extension of up to a further year. The Librarian works 20 hours a week, normally from 10am to 2pm on Mondays-Fridays. The salary will be in the range of £13,773 - £14,439, depending on experience.

Applications and informal enquiries to Mrs Fiona Kilby: mcmrs@middlebury.edu

Applications deadline: 5pm on Friday 28 March 2025. Applications to include a covering letter, CV, and details of two referees.  Interviews will take place in Oxford on Thursday 10 April.

Middlebury-CMRS is a Study Abroad program associated with Keble College. It welcomes up to 35 undergraduate students from leading north American institutions in the autumn and spring, and rather smaller numbers in the summer. M-CMRS students have access to the Bodleian Library system and Keble College library, as well as Middlebury’s online resources. However, their main port of call is M-CMRS’s own Feneley Library, in the centre of Oxford. This houses 18,000 books, as well as special collections and archives. The Librarian will provide students with regular access to books; will offer them guidance in using library resources, including electronic resources; and will assist in cataloguing and organizing the library collections. Applicants should note that the job involves shelving books, pushing library ladders, working at height, and lifting and carrying books and boxes.

M-CMRS is associated with Keble College, but it is not part of the University of Oxford or Keble College. The employer for this post is the Middlebury UK Trust, not Keble College or the University of Oxford.
